WP1 THM material model and FOC data calibration
WP1 focuses on linking and calibrating the coupled THM behaviour of the subsurface and near well-bore region with FOC data in lab-scale experimental settings under a controlled environment.

Fundamental insights will be achieved that are essential to quantify the micromechanical behaviour and damage development for reservoir rocks and the cement (elastic, inelastic, and creep) at realistic (close to in situ) conditions during cooling from CO2 injection.
FOC responses will be calibrated in experiments and linked to the THM behaviour to enhance the transfer function accuracy and to be implemented for fibre-optic sensing in WP2 and eventually for future CO2 injection operations. WP1 will be the essential input for developing a template for the operational strain window in WP3 and WP4.
Four tasks are defined in WP1:
- Task 1.1 Review of available data and identification of input parameter for THM material models
- Task 1.2 Development of THM material models and damage/failure modes
- Task 1.3 THM FOC data calibration for formation and cement
- Task 1.4 THM FOC data calibration for formation-cement interface
